Management Services Northwest Selected for Washington   State’s Blueprint For Safety Program

Voluntary Program Promotes Improved Workplace Safety and Health

Ferndale, WA, July 9, 2012 – As part of its ongoing commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace, Management Services Northwest announces its participation in the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Blueprint for Safety pilot program. The program promotes management and labor leadership in workplace safety and health as essential elements in long-term success.

Currently, just 12 Washington employers have been invited to take part in the voluntary program, which offers tools to help manage their workplaces more safely and productively. Through the program, these employers receive training in areas such as job hazard analysis, accident investigation, return to work, human resources, ergonomics and safety leadership.

“We are honored to be chosen to partner with the Washington State Department of Labor in this groundbreaking initiative to improve workplace safety,” said Janelle Bruland, President and CEO of Management Services Northwest. “Our team’s safety and health has always been our priority, and we strive to take advantage of every opportunity to expand our knowledge, improve our practices and promote a safe and productive workplace. The Blueprint for Safety is a positive, collaborative effort that benefits both employees and employers.”

Inclusion in the Blueprint for Safety Program requires a strong commitment from top management, training of safety supervisors and leaders, and consistent participation by the entire organization. Employer performance is measured over the long term, with the goal of lowering the rates of accident claims and costs.
